A lot SHOULD change in the thirty years since we brought Merino wool to the world. At Point6 Merino, things have changed. We feel a responsibility to keep making our products last longer and work better (and that includes charging less so more people can enjoy the best Merino out there.) One big innovation we’re using is Compact Spinning, which we use for every garment we make. What’s that?
Unlike traditional ring spinning, Compact Spinning uses centripetal force to create a tighter yarn strand that’s 25% stronger, allowing us to create a sock with less nylon content and better cross stretch. These stronger fibers are also smoother, resulting in a softer feel and way less wear and pilling from friction. This all means you get better Merino and more of it — for more comfort and fewer problems.
SEAMLESS TOE CLOSURE
All of our socks utilize a seamless toe closure which increases comfort and provides the wearer with less bulk inside their footwear.
STYLE & SIZE LABELING
We stitch the style name, weight/cushioning, and the size into the welt of the sock to make it easier to match up after laundry or figure out how to track down your favorite pair later.
VENTING
On the ankle transition and the toe we put a thinner vent without cushion. This allows for better flex in the sock at the transition points and increases long term durability.
DEEP HEEL POCKET & REINFORCEMENT
Our deep heel pocket is contoured and deep to keep the sock in place. This area is also reinforced on all socks, with optional additional reinforcement above the heel for added durability.
Socks will end below the ankle bone and the tab in the rear of the sock will be above any low profile running or hiking shoe.
Socks will end just above the ankle. They are ideal for low profile footwear that extends to the users ankle.
Socks will end above the ankle and below the calf. They are popular for runners and hikers with low profile hiking shoes.
Socks will end low on the calf and are great for all activities and casual wear.
Socks will come to mid calf on most users. They’re great in activities where you may need more warmth or coverage.
Socks go "over the calf". They are great for activities where you are wearing a boot or are want additional warmth for your legs.
Has no cushioning built into the sock.

Uses our standard terry looping, but puts it completely surrounding the foot and leg.
Terry looping is the small loops of wool on the inside of the sock to create the cushioning.
“Lifetime” guarantees are a thing in the Merino wool apparel industry. And so, of course, Point6 Merino has a guarantee, and we guarantee our guarantee is as good as the others. It has a few reasonable caveats, just like theirs. But there’s one thing our guarantee covers that none other does — we guarantee you won’t find this quality of Merino wool at our everyday, super-low insider price. That’s our double guarantee, guaranteed.
