We control everything. Because everything matters.
Most brands tell you their product is premium. We show you exactly why. From the New Zealand farm where our wool begins, to the European mills where it's spun, to the Chattanooga, TN facility where every pair is knit under our own roof.
Making the world's finest Merino gear isn't complicated.
It just requires an uncompromising commitment at every single stage of the process, and the willingness to never take shortcuts, even when shortcuts would be easier and cheaper.
This is how we make Point6.
Step by step. No gaps. No compromises.
THE WOOL
It Starts in New Zealand. On Purpose.
Not all Merino wool is the same. The fiber's quality depends on the breed of sheep, the climate they're raised in, the land they graze on, and the farming practices of the people who raise them. We source exclusively from New Zealand's finest Merino farms because New Zealand produces the world's most consistent, highest-quality Merino fiber, and has done so for generations.
New Zealand Merino is characterized by its exceptional softness, long staple length, and natural crimp, properties that translate directly into better performance, better durability, and better comfort in the finished product. It's also sourced from farms that practice responsible, regenerative land management, because the long-term health of the land these sheep graze on is inseparable from the long-term quality of the fiber they produce.
We don't source from New Zealand because it's a good story. We source from New Zealand because it's the right fiber. The story is just a consequence of making the right decision.
The Spinning
Compact-Spun in Europe. This Is Where We Separate From Everyone Else.
This is the step most Merino brands skip, or can't afford to do properly. And it's the step that makes the biggest difference in what you actually feel when you put on a Point6 sock.
Most Merino products are made with ring-spun yarn. Ring spinning is the standard process, it works, and it produces a perfectly acceptable yarn. But it leaves loose fiber ends on the surface of the yarn that over time cause pilling, reduce durability, and gradually diminish the softness of the product.
We use compact spinning instead.
Compact spinning is a more advanced process that draws the fibers together more tightly before they're twisted, eliminating those loose surface ends before they ever become a problem. The result is a yarn that is measurably stronger, measurably smoother, and measurably more durable than ring-spun alternatives.
Our yarn is compact-spun in European heritage mills with generations of expertise in precision wool processing. We chose these mills not because they were the most convenient option, but because they produce the best yarn. Full stop.
The Difference in Numbers: Compact-spun yarn is up to 25% stronger than ring-spun alternatives, which is why our socks last long enough to back with a lifetime guarantee.
The KNITTING
Made in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Under Our Own Roof.
Every pair of Point6 socks is knit in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not contracted out. Not assembled overseas and finished domestically. Made here, start to finish, by skilled craftspeople who understand what they're making and why it matters.
Manufacturing in the USA costs more. We've always known that. We've always chosen to do it anyway, because keeping production under our own roof means we control the quality at every stage of the knitting process. We can catch a problem before it becomes a product. We can maintain the consistency our customers expect. And we can stand behind the lifetime guarantee we offer because we know exactly what went into every pair.
Chattanooga has a proud manufacturing heritage, and we're glad to be part of it. The people who knit our socks aren't anonymous contractors in a distant facility, they're craftspeople who take genuine pride in what they produce. That pride shows up in the product.
What Made in USA Means for You:
- Complete quality control at every production stage
- Consistent sizing, construction, and finish across every pair
- A supply chain we can vouch for entirely
- The ability to offer a lifetime guarantee with absolute confidence

Built to Last Is the Most Sustainable Thing We Can Do
We're thoughtful about how we talk about sustainability, because the word has been used so loosely in the apparel industry that it's started to mean very little. So here's what we actually do, and why we do it.We source from responsible New Zealand farms that practice regenerative land management, because healthy land produces better fiber and supports the ecosystems that Merino farming depends on. We compact-spin our yarn in European mills with rigorous environmental standards. We manufacture in the USA under our own oversight. And we make products that are designed to last for years rather than months, because a sock you replace every six months has a dramatically higher lifetime environmental impact than one you wear for a decade. The most sustainable product is the one you never have to replace. That's not a sustainability strategy, it's just the logical consequence of making something properly. We back it with a lifetime guarantee because we believe in it. And we're transparent about our supply chain because you deserve to know what you're buying and where it came from. We're not perfect. But we're honest about what we do, why we do it, and where we're still working to do better.
Why This Matters to You
What All of This Means When You Pull Them On
Everything on this page, the New Zealand sourcing, the European compact spinning, the Chattanooga manufacturing, exists to produce one outcome: a product that feels noticeably, undeniably better than anything else you've worn, and keeps feeling that way for years.
You'll notice it the first time you put them on. The softness that doesn't fade. The structure that holds its shape. The temperature regulation that works whether you're on a trail in October or a long-haul flight in July. The odor resistance that means one pair works harder than three pairs of anything else.
That's not marketing language. That's what happens when you refuse to compromise at any stage of the process.
Built to last. From the ground up.
