I have told many people POINT6 hiking socks were the best ever made, but now I don't offer that appraisal. I wear a low top Vasque Breeze GTX and my 37.5 light hikers all wear just above the thick part of the rear of the heel. (Mine are 63%wool 31% nylon &7% spandex) I don't have a problem with the light crew hikers, but mostly wear them in summer time. I did notice that the newer socks have a slightly different configuration; so, I will give them a try. Any chance of bringing up that heel cushion just a tad in the rear of the sock?

This sock used to be available in Taupe.
These were my go to socks and had accumulated many pairs of them.
When Taupe was dropped, I ordered some in Earth but didn't like.
Returned and got 14 sets in gray. Worked out great, but still prefer Taupe.
It took a while but realized that all of these were fitting tighter than the exact same socks did in the Taupe color.
Only slightly tighter, but enough to be "tiresome" after a few hours of wear.
They're great sock so instead of returning I gave them away to someone happy to have them.
These were no doubt my all time favorite all around all day socks for general purpose,
light hiking and biking.
I since moved on to another brand, not as good but the fit is very good, like they were with these socks in Taupe.
Why a color change creates a slightly tighter fit -- pfft - no idea.
