I originally bought a pair for keeping warm in my sleeping bag backpacking - they are thicker socks and, as a crew, are smaller (and lighter). Works great for this purpose.
I then expanded their use to cycling - I have a wide toe box cycling shoe (Sidi mega) and my foot wiggled a bunch with my traditional thin cycling sock. This thicker sock solves the wiggle problem and has me dialed in.
I'm wearing them now......and they feel "Just Right". The beauty of the Point 6 Socks is there a model for all your pursuits who else gives you this variety ?
I bought a pair of these 5 years ago and then bought 9 more pairs. With the recent stimulus check, I bought 5 MORE pairs. Though the first ones wore out after 5 years of constant use and washing, they held up more than enough to make up for the cost of buying cheap cotton socks that my use would wear out in 1yr or so. Warm in the winter not overly warm in the summer and as cushy as a brand new pair of those cheap cotton socks 2 years on...yeah, I'm hooked. Will be back for more when I wear my new ones out and looking to get others new pairs to get them hooked too.
Really love how the padding feels and is distributed in these socks, hope more socks end up with this. These fit a little looser than any of the other pairs I bought and bunch a little above my heels/in the ankle area. Not sure why the fit is different. I'm a size 9, ordered a medium. More color options would be great and a little tightening of that area just above the heel.
