Hometown: Ohiopyle, Pennsylvannia
Interests: Yoga, Backcountry Skiing
Leah is a second generation explorer. Her parents are avid backcountry skiers and whitewater kayakers (her dad is 72 and still kayaks class 5 rivers every weekend that’s warmer than 32 degrees). Her parents took her winter camping at 6 months old and she started rafting at two years old, kayaking at four, and skiing sometime in between. She has completely grown up in the outdoor community and at 28, it is still a huge part of her everyday life.
She began practicing yoga regularly at eight years old and traveled to Costa Rica in 2016 to become certified in teaching yoga. She has been a massage therapist for a decade, but started to diversify her skills during Covid. In the last year she started leading adventure yoga retreats, as well as implementing web design and social media management for two travel van companies. Her biggest professional accomplishment would be teaching yoga on an episode of the last season of The Bachelor, that reached millions of viewers. Leah's biggest personal achievement would be shredding (a specific type of inflatable craft) the lower Blackwater River. As far as she knows, she is the second person to descend that section of river in an inflatable.
She loves that her comfort zone is in a remote gorge of West Virginia that is completely inaccessible to most people. Her fears include working 40 hours a week, venomous snakes and the consequences that global warming will have on future ski seasons. Leah's dream is honestly to continue living the adventurous life she does for the rest of her life.
