Jay Friedman is an emergency physician, exercise physiologist, and ultra-runner from upstate NY. He has finished over fifty ultras, winning ten, and has top-10 finishes at national championships for 50K, 50 miles, 100K, 100 miles, and 24 hours. He is one of the founding members ofBoundless Coaching, where he coaches marathoners, trail runners, and ultra-marathoners. He hostsThe Pain Cave, a podcast nominally about the science of endurance sports but mostly about beer. He's also a very mediocre skier. He shares most of his miles with his two teenage daughters and their goldendoodle, Teddy.
